Count the days to Christmas
This browser counter counts down the days, hours, minutes, and seconds to December 25 at midnight in your local time zone. Use this countdown full-screen in a classroom or at home to let kids see the date approaching. Or keep it running in a browser tab to make sure you meet last-date delivery times.
When is Christmas around the world?
December 25 was set as the date of Christmas in the 4th century, partly to overlap with celebrations that already existed around the winter solstice. Today, it is observed in over 160 countries, as a religious feast in some and a secular family holiday in others. The "twelve days of Christmas" run from December 25 through January 5, and some traditions exchange small gifts on each day rather than all at once on the 25th. Eastern Orthodox churches that follow the Julian calendar observe Christmas on January 7.
