What is the time until tool?

A live countdown to any moment you name. Type a time like "3pm", a day like "Friday", a date like "2027-03-28", or an event like "Christmas", and the tool counts down to it second by second.

How to use it

Type your target into the box. The parser understands times (3pm, 5:45pm, 14:30), days (Monday-Sunday), events (Christmas, Easter, Halloween, New Year), and ISO dates (2027-03-28 17:00). A time without a day defaults to today or, if that time has already passed, tomorrow. Turn on 'work hours only' to count only Monday-Friday 9-5 hours until your target.

Why use it?

Because Google's answer for "how long until 3pm" is a static number that becomes wrong the moment it loads. A live countdown stays right. The work-hours filter answers a different question entirely: how much actual office time remains until a deadline.

Common questions

What inputs are supported?
Times of day (3pm, 5:45pm, 14:30), days (Monday through Sunday), event names (Christmas, Easter, Halloween, New Year), and dates in ISO or US format (2027-03-28 or 3/28/2027). You can combine date and time: '2027-12-25 17:00'.
What does the work-hours filter do?
Counts only the working hours (Monday-Friday 9:00-17:00) between now and your target. Useful when you want to know how much real office time remains before a deadline, not just elapsed wall-clock time.
What timezone does it use?
Your local timezone, as your browser reports it. The countdown ticks in your wall-clock time, so '3pm today' means 3pm where you are.
What if I type something it can't parse?
An inline message asks you to try a known format. Nothing else changes until the input parses cleanly.
Can I share my countdown?
Yes. The URL updates with your target after parsing, so copying the address bar gives a link that opens the same countdown for whoever you share it with.
