Counting down to

It's here!

What is the time until tool?

A Google search like "how long until 3pm" gives you a static number that ages. This countdown stays live. You can use it to plan for project deadlines, schedule party or festive shopping, or any time you need to see how much time you have left before an important date.

  1. To get started, pick a date and a time and click Start, or click a quick-pick chip like 3pm, 5pm, or midnight to start the countdown immediately.
  2. Let it run. When it hits zero the numbers stop and a celebration message appears. For a repeating target like 5pm or a weekday, one click continues the countdown to the next occurrence.

The URL updates with your chosen date and time, so copying the address bar with a running countdown gives a link that opens the same countdown for whoever you send it to.

FAQs

What do the quick-pick chips do?
They fill the time picker with a common time-of-day target (9am, noon, 3pm, 5pm, 9pm, midnight) and start the countdown in one click. If the time has already passed today, the count rolls to tomorrow.
What happens when the countdown hits zero?
The numbers stop at zero, confetti pops, and a celebration message stays on screen so you cannot miss the moment. There is no popup or alarm sound. For a repeating target like 5pm or a weekday, a button continues the count to the next occurrence.
What timezone does it use?
Your local time zone, as your browser reports it. The countdown ticks in your wall-clock time, so '3pm today' means 3pm where you are.
